Basically, you can work with children, adults, and the aged in areas such as physical rehabilitation, mental health services, learning disability, care management, research posts, pediatrics, etc. You can also work in various settings such as community centers, educational establishments, hospitals, prisons, charity and voluntary agencies, etc.

However, for you to get to work, you need to be registered. Not only that, you need to also have what it takes to be a good and successful OT and for that to happen, you need to be determined, patient, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. But above all, you should commit yourself to your patients and see to it that they get the fulfilled life.

Now, concerning the demand for this job, the areas of health and social services are the ones who needed this profession the most. That is why OTs can usually be found in hospitals. But then sometimes, they tend to their patients in their homes to check on their condition. Given this, they give them a diagnosis with a new set of medication they need.

But if you want to climb up a high post in this field, you can pursue research or specialist jobs. And when you climb up seniority, you can merge these two together. However, if you like an alternative, you also may opt for a teaching or a management career.
