Most people are familiar with taxi drivers. Taxi driver or cab drivers are pretty much everywhere specially in those medium and large metropolitans. You might even have experience with them.
Being a taxi driver is actually not that easy at all. To be one, you will need to send dozens and even hundreds of applications just to get a taxi driving job. There are those other places however like US that doesn't require too much from their taxi drivers and easily permits them to operate or work.
Driving a taxi is a unique experience. You spend long hours sitting in one position and driving in some of the world's most stressful traffic. Thus, what are the steps that you can take to keep a healthy body as a taxi driver despite these stresses?
First, you will need to understand that taxi driving is stressful in the first place. You spend long hours in traffic, and have to maintain a certain kind of awareness to avoid accidents. You will be dealing with different varieties of people and among them are those that are not friendly. For some, they don't even have enough sleep in a day's work. Therefore, if you are able to handle stress you'll be able to maintain a good health. Anytime you get the opportunity,, take some deep breaths walk around and generally loosen up.
For just about anyone to maintain their health, they must learn to eat right. The right diet will provide your body with strength and endurance as well as immunity to diseases and viruses.
Establish a specific exercise that you can perform regularly. Taxi drivers spend long hours sitting in a fixed position behind the wheel of a car. Sitting for long hours can cause a lot of problems to your health. Muscle stiffens during this event which can lead to muscle and nerve complications. The regular exercise such as flexes as well as trunk twists can help you avoid these complications with your muscles and nerves.
During weekends or days with no work, be sure to engage in other activities such as sports. Remember, that you also need a time off from work. Since this work will require you to stay in the vehicle for hours, there is a tendency that you'll always be wanting to be in a taxi. This is their bread and butter that's why they have this kind of mindset. Those drivers need to understand that spending time away from that car is very important. The day off provides them with opportunity to stretch their muscles and joints.
Finally, learn to be patient. Whichever city you drive in, you'll always have to work with a few traffic problems. You'll never know when you'll have to reroute or not. Thus, patience will be very helpful. It will help to reduce the stress level.
