Symptoms Of High Blood Pressure In Women

Hypertension, commonly referred to as high blood pressure is a very dangerous ailment. This is mainly because a third of the people suffering from the condition do not know that they have it until it is too late and the condition has already caused substantial damage to the heart, kidneys, blood vessels and other parts of the body. High blood pressure occurs when the force of the blood pushing inside the arteries rises and stays high for long time. The only way to know if you have high blood pressure is by constant and regular checkups because high blood pressure has no real or noticeable symptoms when it is in the development stages. If you have a close relative suffering from high blood pressure, it is especially important that you get regular checkups. That said, below are a few symptoms of high blood pressure in women that you can use to recognize if you are prone to the ailment.

One of the major symptoms of high blood pressure in women is severe and constant headaches. Even though headaches can be a sign of other ailments, constant and severe headaches are a strong indicator of a rising blood pressure. If you get throbbing headaches often, it is advisable to seek medical attention or check your blood pressure to make sure that it is not high.

Another major symptom of high blood pressure in women is constant fatigue and confusion. Fatigue might be caused by a hectic workday but, when you are feeling fatigued after getting a good night sleep, it could be an indication of a rising blood pressure. Confusion is also an aspect of high blood pressure in women that should be considered as an early warning sign or symptom.

Your eyes obtain blood through a network of capillaries. When developing high blood pressure, you may are likely to experience vision impairment because the bloodstream pressure within the capillaries is too high such that it makes them expand. You have to rule out other conditions and problems like sleep to be sure that the problem is related to high blood pressure.

Pounding within the chest is yet another characteristic of high bloodstream pressure in women. Pounding within the chest occurs when your heart is overworked as it tries to pump more blood to the arteries. Pounding can also be experienced around the neck and behind the ears because these sensitive places are often linked to the heart.

A significant characteristic of hypertension in women is when you start noticing that there are spots of blood in your urine. This happens when the initial signs and symptoms of HBP go without treatment. The blood traces within the urine is a sign that hypertension has started harming body organs. You should seek medical attention immediately.

Heartbeats are supposed to be regular at around 72 heartbeats per minute. High blood pressure causes the heart beats to be irregular, i.e. above the normal rate of 72 and sometimes even below. This is one of the symptoms of HBP.

Chest pains and difficult breathing is also another symptom of high blood pressure in women. Difficulty in breathing is as a result of pressure in the arteries which minimizes oxygen supply to the heart. This in turn causes chest pains that come and go.
